Steel City Con
Well, just got back from the 3 day Steel City Con. It is always nice to meet people who share a similar interest as myself. The customers that I met at the show were informed, clever and very nice. It seemed like of all the merchandise that was brought to the show - sci-fi films seemed to be the favorite among most of the crowd. Just wanted to make a couple of observations (1) sometimes "stars" can be a little rude. For example Rowdy Roddy Piper made fans wait in line for almost two hours while he hung out in his hotel room. Once he got to the show he seemed very accommodating and pleasant. But he could have started a bit earlier so that the fans who were paying him $25 a shot could get their autograph and enjoy the rest of the show. Also Tracy Gold of Growing Pains did not seem to be a nice person. She actually got into an altercation with one of the fans after Gold made a comment about the fan's occupation. She seemed very rude. Too bad all "stars" cannot be more considerate of their fans.
(2) As the Steel Con expands to another room it will be great to have places where fans can go to listen to the guests (panel discussions) and maybe have a movie room or something like that so fans can go for a while and relax. Well that is all I have for today. Hope to see everyone at the Wayne show on August 4th. All the best to everyone.
